What to Take Instead of Cow’s Milk?

Many people had asked me what should they eat or drink instead of cow's milk if it brings disadvantages more than advantages.

Children - For children, mother's milk is the best. Nowadays, diary products cause the reduction of breastfeeding to only 4%. Mothers who have to work outside can breastfeed your baby in the evening and at night. Then, express your milk and keep it in the refrigerator for the babysitter to feed the baby in the afternoon.

Breastfeeding can help to save money, provide good immunity for the baby, and make them grow up to be a good temper person.

Cow's milk is the only way out for mothers who do not have enough milk for their babies. In this case, you are allowed to use cow's milk which has been modified to be close to mother's milk until the baby reaches 1 year old. After that, feed it with other foods. Another choice for you is soybean milk. This is especially for parents with allergy as your children will have more chance of being allergic if they drink cow's milk.

For small and grown up children, natural food is enough. There is no need to drink milk. However, if this worries the parents, you can use soybean milk instead because the protein in it is almost similar to the one in cow's milk. Actually, pork and chicken are the good source of protein both in quality and quantity.

A glass of cow's milk - protein 8.5 grams
A glass of soybean milk - protein 7 grams
A calf of chicken - protein 18.8 grams

Pregnant Women - Pregnant women need calories, protein, essential fatty acids, calcium, iron, folic acid, and other vitamins. Nevertheless, you have to know that it is not necessary to double the amount of these substances as the baby is 15 times smaller than its mother. Thus, the excessive substances will only accumulate in the mother's body. Moreover, drinking too much milk is one of the causes of obesity after birth giving.

Calories The good one should be complex carbohydrate such as unpolished rice which provides high energy.

Protein Chicken, egg, pork, shrimp, fish are enough. Soybean milk and unpolished rice can also be added.

A chicken breast (100 grams) - protein 11 grams
An egg - protein 10 grams
A fish (100 grams) - protein 21 grams
Red pork (100 grams) - protein 14 grams
Tofu (100 grams) - protein 13.3 grams
A glass of soybean milk - protein 7 grams
2 ladles of unpolished rice - protein 15.6 grams

Calcium Thai food contains a lot of calcium such as dried shrimp, small shrimp, crispy fish. These foods have 13-23 times of calcium more than milk. One piece of tofu and fried shrimp can be counted as 2 glasses of milk.

Iron produces red blood cells. We can get it from meat, liver, yolk, bean sprouts, morning glory, and green vegetables.

Folic Acid helps to produce red blood cells and is essential for the development of nervous system. It can be found in green vegetables, cantaloupe, carrot, liver, yolk, pumpkin, and all kinds of beans.

Vitamin, mineral, vegetal substance help to sustain the chemical process for both the mother and infant, strengthen the immunity, and act as supplementary hormone nourishing the womb. These can be found in fresh vegetables and fruits, homegrown vegetables, spices, and herbs.

Essential fatty acids help to support the hormone and reproductive system, provide beautiful skin. Fish oil, evening primrose oil, and cotton seed oil contain these acids.

If the mother wants to drink milk, take soybean milk topped with roasted black sesame 1-2 glasses a day. It will give both protein and calcium at the same time.

Old age women and elderly - The issue of old age women and elderly taking risk of bone decay has often been a selling point of many high calcium diary product. Actually, our Thai food contains high amount of calcium

We can see that if we take Thai food more often, we will not be lack of calcium.

Stop drinking cow's milk today and you will be in a good health!
