Don’t suffer like your knees

As you grow older, your
knees can be spoiled because of continuous higher weight gain without
controlling your diets. In general, patients of knee inflammation
are mostly farmers who have been working toughly in rural provinces,
including urban people whose jobs require plenty of use of their
knees, especially sportspersons.
Knee inflammation is
partly caused by aging and can now be found in younger patients,
some at the age of 27. Another cause of knee inflammation is being
overweight, forcing your knees to bear the weight of many more kilograms
than they should. In particular, those who were thin when they were
young but a few times larger in their size when they grow older
are likely to have a high risk of knee inflammation.
Depinding on the symptoms,the
general treatment of knee inflammation is to prescribe analgesics,
to suggest the patients to lose their weight, to advise them to
do self physical therapy at home, and to examine their bodies every
few weeks. From my own experience, the patients who only take analgesics
without an exercise tend to have less pain in their knees only when
the medicine takes effect and suffer from the pain again after that.
However, the patients who strictly follow their doctors' suggestion
to do self physical therapy will not only have less pain in their
knees and need to use the medicine less frequently, but may also
be able to give up the use of analgesics. As a result, the prevention
and treatment of knee inflammation in a natural therapeutic way
is recommended.
First, you should avoid
spoiling your knees by being in such positions as squatting, sitting
cross-legged and sitting with your legs flexed backwards for a long
time. Next, you should reduce the amount of meat eaten in each meal
because excessive consumption of meat will increase the amount of
phosphorus in your body, arousing your parathyroid gland to release
a hormone to draws calcium out of your bones to maintain the balance
of your blood. Not only does the process make the bones thinner
but the drawn calcium also gathers itself at the inflammatory joints.
Constantly eating finely ground rice, moreover, can result in a
lack of some vitamins that prevent knee inflammation.
How to relieve pain from knee inflammation
Simple hydrotherapy
Apply a cold compress
to hot and swollen knees for a few days.
Apply a hot compress
to painful but not hot knees for three minutes and then a cold compress
for two minutes. Do it a few times both in the morning and the afternoon
to relieve the pain in your knees.
Herbal compress application
is another good way to relieve the pain from knee inflammation because
its warmth can improve blood circulation around your knees.
Self physical therapy
Sit comfortably on a
chair with your legs perpendicular to the floor and straight back.
Raise your left leg
up to be parallel to the floor. Tense it up while counting one to
ten and place it down. This is counted as one round. Do the same
with your right leg.
Raise and tense up your
alternate legs for ten rounds at first and gradually increase to
one hundred rounds. Your leg muscles will be strengthened and the
pain in your knees will get better, since lack of exercise can make
the muscles shrink and worsen the symptom. At the same time, keep
in mind that you should not be overweight.
If the symptom does
not improve, acupuncture and water exercise are also good treatments
without the use of medicine.
