Have you ever exercised your brain?

An interesting research reports that there are many long life nuns at a convent in Minnesota. The life span of them averages at 85 years old. Over 95 years old for 25 persons and still have many that over 100.

Researchers found that the cerebral cortexes of these nuns are same as normal people. Although nun's brain cells became lower than young people, but their brain cells are more than expected. However, the unusual thing is the nuns' brains contain more nerve plexus which connect between neuron in each cells than the normal people. Despite their ages are getting more and more but these nerve plexus is not stop linking between them. The research is concluded that the unusual numbers of nerve plexus connection caused the longevity.

Normally, nerve plexus can be increased by exercising your brain.

What have this research told us?

Now we knew that though brain cells are decreased, but if there is more connection between cells - these cells will be replaced and function for dead cells. Thus, brain will still be effective even getting older.

We know a lot more than that. The nuns who work with creativity or memory live longer than those nuns who do not have to work by using brains, for example, daily tasks like laundry.

We have realized from the research that we cannot leave our brains stay still. We have to let them work and they will function efficiently and also live longer, whereas if we neglect and do not use them, the brains will degenerate and shrink at last

Most aged people can be succeeded, for instance, a renowned artist, Anna Mary Robertson (Grandma) Moses. She became famous when she was 100 years old. In the beginning, she is an embroidery artist, but when she became older it was hard to do needlework. She turned to paint instead. A well-know picture is " Twar the night before Christmas". Apart from her, you may know Claude Monet. The most famous picture of him is "Water lily" which was painted at 85 years old.

In Thailand, Misiem Yipinsoi, is a leading artist. She had interested in painting when she was old. Moreover, she was very successful and her work also won the gold medal prize in many competitions.

Most elderly people cannot remember the events which have just happened. Their life's experience teach them to remember just only the essential matters. Brain will screen out unimportant data; in order to let brain does not work too hard.

If you want to retard the brain regression, you must let your brain function in various ways. For example, if you good at calculate which is one of the scientific field, you should know about art. You might have to practice music and painting. In the meantime, if you are a musician, you would have to learn about the new technology which is in the scientific field. By doing this, it will activate the other side of brain for preventing it work only too hard on only one side, such as, you may have to interest in playing computer games sometimes.

By doing something that we have not done before, it will stimulate brain cells to build nerve plexus for linking the other cells. In keeping work or study, it means that you are provoking your brain to build a network for linking the nerve system. Therefore, you will able to use your brain effectively and slow down the brain regression. Your age will be expanded and enjoy doing activities in your life.

The simple ways for brain exercise.
1. Try to walk backward instead of only walking forward.

2. Try to count the number backward, such as, 1,000, 999, 988…instead of counting from 1, 2, 3…

3. If you used to write with the right hand, try to use the left. Try to write elaborately and you will able to write with both sides.

4. If you are an accountant and work with figures all day, try doing something trendy, such as, making necklace from color stones, painting ceramic plates or baking cakes.

5. If you are a female office worker and staying with computer and in cool room all the time. Why don't you go out and sign up for goods courses like dancing, swimming, diving or Yoga class.

6. If you are already an artist. I suggest you to play a computer game, learn a Japanese abacus or driving Go-Kart.

7. If you are a professional athlete and use physical power, you might try to use brain for thinking, such as, playing crossword or taking a foreign language class.

These are only samples for helping you get the idea about hoe you can exercise both sides of you brain and make nerve plexus build more network.

The secret tip: if you work or do something as your career. Try to do another thing that opposite from your routine career for letting your brain update and learn new things all the time.
