A Twinkling Little Star
Editorial
I, personally, admire
Mrs. Duangdao (meaning "stars" in Thai) Jarujinda in her acting
and dubbing careers. I also admire her for her personal life as
a good mother. Today, I saw her but not through a T.V. screen. She
was here waiting to see a doctor at Balavi Natural Health Center.
A conflict between what
I felt about her and what I was seeing arose at the moment.
"Before the end
of last year, I had loads of work to do. On December, 31st I decided
to go visiting some of my respectful persons. As soon as I left
home, however, I felt severe pain in my head. So I drove back home,
took a pill and got some rest. I didn't want to go to a hospital
on New Year Eve for it could bring bad omen. When I woke up, I felt
better but soon the pain would recover," Mrs. Duangdao says.
Mrs. Daungdao has allergies
and has always taken anti-allergic pills. Whenever she went outside
to film soap operas and encountered dust, her allergies would resume.
She then decided that she must go see a doctor.
The doctor's first diagnosis
was that she had sinusitis and gave her some medicine. She felt
better but still felt pain in her head whenever coughing. Therefore
she went to the hospital but this time she decided to consult a
neurologist for she was afraid that her symptom was related to brain
vascular functions.
"I was afraid
of becoming paralyzed, so, I choose to consult a neurologist. The
doctor told me I didn't have sinusitis but I got muscle tension
because of stress, hard-working and insufficient rest.
The neurologist had
her receive acupuncture treatment to loosen strain in her muscle
and then received physical therapy. She felt better after following
all these. Yet, she was so busy working that she couldn't receive
frequent physical therapy, which caused her symptom to still remain.
"Shooting soap
opera is a very hard work. You can't really tell when you will finish.
There are many times when we start shooting early in the morning
but we finish very late at night. Thus, I want to spend a fleck
of my free time with my family causing me to not receiving enough
physical therapy."
After lacking physical therapy, Mrs. Duangdao's
pain resumed. This time, however, the pain changed from the right
part of the body to her left shoulder. She thought that she should
find a new way of curing it, then, one day she watched a natural medicine
program on UBC 7 which advertised Balavi Natural Health Center. So
she called here and made an appointment.
"I am lucky that
my mother likes watching this program and reads a lot of natural
medicine books. She always reminds me of herbs qualities and whenever
anyone in my family gets sick, my mother would buy some medicine
from Balavi. The medicine here is very effective but the problem
was that we didn't know a good place to receive Thai medicine treatment.
After knowing that Balavi Natural Health Center offers Thai medicine
treatment, I hurriedly mad an appointment."
Mrs. Duangdao told us
me about the diagnosis that she had muscle tension. The strain was
so great that she could have rigid and stuck fascia if she didn't
cure it. The doctor, thus, told her to massage and compress her
muscles to prevent soreness and also to detoxify and eat appropriate
food for her body.
"After receiving
Thai medicine treatment, I gain more knowledge. For example, I know
that herbal medicine won't leave toxic substances in your body and
detoxification helps our body to work more effectively. Eating appropriate
food for our body helps our body to gain more nourishment, and massage
can reduce muscle tension and enlarge blood vessels and nerve ending
so that blood can flow easily."
Actually, Thai medicine
treatment doesn't contain only massage treatment. Its treatment
covers every stage of our life starting from when we were born until
we reach an old age. It is set on a basis of "Ru"- getting rid of
the toxic from your body, "Lom" - protect your body from being re-infected,
and "Ragsa" - curing symptoms by applying different ways of treatment
such as massage, steam bath , compress, prenatal and post-natal
Thai folk treatment by using traditional Thai medicine that has
been accepted for its effectiveness for more than a hundred year.
"Give your body back to nature and it will cure
you." |
