THE ONLY VICTORY WORTH ACHIEVING
IS VICTORY OVER ONESELF
Editorial
Time has changed so
as our eating habits. We shall see that people in the past live
much longer than people in today's era. That's because our diet
is differ from our ancestors.
Japanese people are
a good example here. In the past most Japanese were very small so
Thai people called them "I-Yun" (meaning "shorty"). After the war,
however, Japan had done many domestic changes by receiving a lot
of western culture especially western diet. Instead of eating fish
which provides them with easy to digest protein, unsaturated fat
and Omega 3 as their main dish, Japanese turn to western food. They
then started to grow up taller and faster just like their technology.
They, however, receive allergies, atherosclerosis, heart diseases
and cancers as the consequences. This situation doesn't happen only
in Japan but also here in Thailand. Thai people also accept western
diet culture such as fast food, frozen food, and instant food which
are causes of various illnesses.
The problem is "how
can we change our eating habit?" The answer is we have to begin
from ourselves first. The most important thing is to change our
attitude. There are times when we eat not because of hungriness
but because we can't stand our desire. Therefore the first thing
to do is to decrease our desire. We have to think that what we eat
only increases more toxic to our body and causes several serious
illnesses. Anyway, people usually have no fear for things that don't
have instant effect such as cigarette smoking. Suppose smoking cigarettes
caused instant death, people wouldn't smoke them for sure. Nevertheless
we have to admit that things that we eat will certainly bring bad
effect to our body sooner or later. Therefore we have to overcome
our desire like a saying "If you conquer your mind, you conquer
the world". If we give up to our own heart, we'd better forget
about beating others. Thus, we have to start from ourselves because
if we can change ourselves and our eating habits, we will gain good
health in return. A good health can't be acquired in one day. Our
body will get stronger little by little because it contains more
than a one-day toxic but has been collected toxic substances for
several years. Some people may have collected them for all their
lives. Hence, it's certainly that these toxic substances can't be
cleaned up within one day.
Whenever we have changed
our behavior, good things will happen to us. Eating habits can also
be changed by using natural treatment such as acupuncture to reduce
hungriness, and detoxification to wash away toxic substances from
our body. Acupuncture helps balancing our body system (Some people
are afraid of getting hurt but it's better to receive a slight pain
now than receiving it for the rest of their lives.) For detoxification,
if we take a ten - day course, we will know how to take care of
our health and after we finish this course, we can certainly change
our eating habits.
The way we are, the
way we eat and the way we live is best known by us. Therefore if
things around us can shorten our lives, deteriorate our body and
psychological health; wouldn't it be better to start changing now?
Ask yourself if you want to live a happy life or suffer each day
that you survive. There is no need to tell the answer to anybody
except to yourself.
