Meditation for mental exercise

By The Editorial

Today our world is changing everyday. Sometimes we have to confront with problems that we do not want to face again everyday. Then, the boredom takes place and somebody may decide not to live which is not the right answer.

The solution of problems contains various ways. It depends how we choose to conduct and make most benefit to our life. Somebody may experience many unfortunate events in their life or confronting with an incurable serious disease, for example, AIDS or cancer. However, this does not mean that the doorway of life will be shut. Everybody has to born and die, but it just how we can live happily for the rest of our life. Now, we will get to know the good thing which many of you may have already got through or experienced before. The good thing is a meditation.

Meditation is how to control and concentrate thoughts or live with consciousness, meaning that when our minds think of something, you should concentrate and put the consciousness in there. If we can do it, for no matter what problems, it will mean that we are having consciousness with us.

Before starting a meditation, we have to take care of the surrounding area. After that sit cross-legged placing the right leg on the left leg and right hand on left hand and control or concentrate your breath slowly. When inhale, praying "Phong - Nor" (swell) and exhale, you pray "Yub - Nor" (flat), by controlling thoughts and always stay conscious. If we allowed our thoughts with emotions, we could think about anything; the sun or moon. Since our mind tends to scatter quickly. Therefore, we must concentrate and stay conscious all the time. Whenever you are unaware, you will know at once because you stay conscious. If we were unconscious, like when we are dozing, we would not perceive anything because we lack of consciousness. Thus, keep controlling your breath in and out and neglect the time but we must have consciousness. When you are inhaling, you have to control your mind and concentrate to every part of your body; how your head, face or where do you put your arms. You have to stay conscious all the time because you had it with you. For the beginners, making a meditation may not last than a minute. Somebody could make a meditation for a day. However, if we can control our thoughts and perceive when you feel pain, you can concentrate on your breath and keep praying as described and you will feel better. In contrast, if we allow our thoughts to think to other things, we will only worry instead. Thus, you should concentrate on your mind and keep praying "Kid- Nor" (thinking) and you will always aware of yourself.

Meditation practice helps us to know what are we doing, thinking, and stay conscious. These consciousnesses help us create many things, for example, concentration, good memory or even the problems. These things happen because we have been practicing it. Therefore, we should not too hurry; just practicing gradually everyday and it will proceed effectively more and more without awareness. Hopefully, this mental exercise will be an advantage for readers more or less.

Try to practice this mental exercise and it will not waste your time. I can guarantee!
