Victory Over Diabetes

By Dr.Kanin Tripipitsiriwat

Nowadays, the number of people who suffer from chronic diseases have considerably increased. Many have no choice but to take medicine for the rest of their lives.

Diabtes is one of such diseases. The patients are usually told that medicine is what they have to take until the day they die otherwise complications might occur. They, for instance, might lose their legs if the wound becomes incurable and rotten. In addtion, they are likely to gradually lose their eyesight if diabetes spreads to the eyes. Or worse, if it goes as far as the kidneys, it might cause kidney degenerate disease or renal failure. Diabetes can eventually become deadly if you are not taken care of with proper treatments. However, such sayings are only half true for diabetics do not really need to take medicine for the rest of their livs. And if they do not take them, the complications are not as terrifying as the ones mentioned above. So how can we cease diabetes without such monstrous complications? The main principal is to comtrol the glucose level in the blood vessels which actually does not always need medication. We have here other means to help diabetics cope with such problems.

The first thing to change is the eating habit. This might be a little difficult if your mind is not strong enough because the new way of eating is totally different from the one they are accustomed to. If you consider the non-medicine diabetic treatment or, may i call it, Balavi's diabetic treatment very closely, you will see that it is very easy to understand. It only requires a couple of sentences to explain. The tratment concentrates on meat and vegetables. The patients can eat protein, meat, fat and vegetables. Other than that , they just cannot. What they cannot eat are all carbohydrates such as all starches, rice, fruits, sugar, etc. You will see that it is quite hard for diabetics to do since carbohydrates are what they are most fond of.

In order to succeed, you need a little practice of the mind so that you can give up the habit of eating a lot of starches, rice and sugar. There are several ways fo that; for example, the subconscious reprogramming. This approach is for you to quit eating carbohydrates and turn to meat and vegetables. Vegetables play a greatly important role in completing this practice for most people have now truned into consumerists who usually eat whatever their heart commands them to do. They avoid food that are bitter, smelly, stiff and rough because they are not delicious. Instead, they turn to soft, greasy, sweet and sweet scented ones. But if they continue eating only those types of food, diseases will certainly appear. So, what needs to be firstly fixed is the habit which can be accomplished by reprogramming the subconscious. That is to tell the subconscious to love vegetables and their deliciousness. Meditation can also help diabetics strengthen their mind.

Furthermore, there is another way taught by the Buddha in order to practice the mind. It is meditation. Meditation teaches us to look at things the way they are. It is Indian most ancient long-lost way reascertained by the Buddha 2,500 years ago. People who practice meditation will discover what is beneficial to them. They will also find out that sorrow and the old habits, including the junk food eating habit, will decrease. They will be happier and will be able to do something good for themselves and for others.

The right and pure way to meditate needs proper advices otherwise you might not get full benefits. I had a chance to meditate at a place where they offer practical and pure advices. I have acheived quite a lot from it and can also adapt it to use in my dialy life. This place makes meditation very rewarding. Therefore, I would like to suggest it to you for your own good. It belongs to Meditation Foundation under the patronage of the Supreme Patriarch. For more information, please go to http://www.thaidhamma.org.
