Night Journeys and Commands of the Mind

By Dr.Tipatat Junhasavasdikul

At Balavi Natural Healing Center, apart from taking care of patients who suffer from all kinds of illnesses like most clinics, I often encounter with strange sickness, which cannot technically be called diseases according to traditional medical definition.

This patient is also one of those I am talking about. The patient (please allow me to call her so) is a female in her teenage year. She walked into the diagnosis room. At first, I thought she is an ordinary healthy woman. After sitting down and introducing one another, as usual I asked her to tell me of the details why she came to consult me.

"I have a problem of sleep walking."

"Oh, you have a problem of sleeping?" I hurriedly concluded it in my mind, thinking it would definitely be an easy case.

"No, night journeying," said she.

"Oh, sorry. So…you…sleepwalk." There we go, I guessed. I had just run into an unusual and complicated problem.

"Please tell me the details of your night journeys."

It all started about 2-3 months ago when she began to feel that she was too fat. She, consequently, commence going on diet by limiting the amount of food taken in a particular period of time.

During the diet, she always felt hungry especially at night around one or two a.m. She was even afraid that she could not resist the hunger.

One day, when she was half-asleep on her bed, she got up and headed towards the refrigerator. She opened it, took some snacks out and ate some. The moment she felt conscious was when she had all the food in her mouth. What worse is that after some time going on diet, she had not lost much weight.

Since then, she always worried that the reason she had not lost weight was probably because of the unconscious sleepwalking. From then on, she started to put the clock on the head bed so that when she sleepwalked again she would know what time it was. In her mind, she deeply worried whether she would night journeyed or not.

After having observed for 3-4 nights, she was shocked to know that her mouth was always full of snacks. More importantly, she perpetually woke up at the exact same time, 2 a.m.

"Are you sure it was exactly 2 a.m. every time?"

"I'm sure because I had the clock on the head bed all the time to see what time I woke up" Furthermore, she told me that nobody believed her. They all thought that she was crazy. Things got worse until her sister had to sleep with her. That was when her sister realized that what she said was true.

Let's do some thorough analysis about this case. The problem is initiated from the patient herself. It is her own worries that she would be waking up at night and hungry. As these worries go on, it is like she was ordering her subconscious to be really getting up. Worse comes to worse when she was half-asleep, so she got up and went to find some food in the refrigerator in order to decrease the hunger. When the food reached the mouth, she then came to a realization. Uh! This is the time I'm supposed to sleep. Why am I awake and sitting here eating?

The following night, she again placed the clock up on the head bed. She even looked at it before going to bed, at the same time, worrying whether she would wake up at 2 a.m. or not. Therefore, when she was half-asleep, it was then the best time for the mind to receive a special order. That was the last command before getting into bed, "at 2 a.m., will I get up and find something to eat?" Too bad that the question was ignored by the brain. What it memorizes was the order of getting up at 2 a.m. to find some food. Consequently, when the clock stroke 2, the body was commanded by the subconscious to be really awake. It was when she had a mouth full of food that the consciousness finally came back.

That is not all. When she was awake, she hurriedly turned around to look at the clock. Oh!…darn it. It's 2 a.m. again. The time when she was surprised was also another time when the mind was again ordered. It is like the command was being ordered more clearly. In consequence, when the sleepwalking symptom got worse and worse. I call this the command of the mind.

As it is due to the malfunction of the mind system, the way to solve is to reorder the subconscious (if this happens to a computer, what to do is probably pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del )

To reorder the subconscious has to be done in a special condition only;

1. Through meditation in order to empower the subconscious to correct the problem.

2. Repeatedly commanding yourself before going to bed in the half-asleep condition that "I will not wake up and eat in the middle of the night."

3. Letting the psychiatrist whisper the same order as above to the patient while she/he is half-asleep.

For this case I sent her to Prof. Orapin (Khun Wat), our psychiatrist, to do the order of the subconscious along with suggesting her to get rid of the clock. Therefore, she will not have to worry whether it is 2 a.m. or not (in order to prevent the mind from being ordered)

After a few treatments, the symptom was completely gone. We are all happy.

Apart from this case, I also come upon other 2-3 similar cases. We try to emphasize on the importance of the command of the mind even for other illnesses. Since if you tell yourself regularly that "I will be dead. I will be dead," you will end up having a short life.

Subconscious and the power of mind are fun and interesting. They can be considered another sort of a study of power wave or vibrational medicine. I will talk about it later.
